Originating in the American tropics, now wide-spread. The tree bears its flowers & subsequently pods on the main trunk. Pods contain beans, which after fermentation are dried, shelled, roasted & ground. Cocoa has an attractive taste & high fat content, containing caffeine which is a stimulant.
