Cotswold Traiteur

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

It was a trip to a butchers shop in Gascony that inspired chef Francis Green to start his  ready meal business in Gloucestershire. Francis was doing some catering  jobs for families and weddings in France and the local butcher nicknamed him the “English traiteur”  Before restaurants and Cafes  most French towns and villages had their own “traiteur” a kitchen where locals could take along their own bowls to get a portion of duck cassoulet or daube of beef often to be eaten at a communal table.

Based in the North Cotswolds we have dedicated ourselves to creating a range of award winning ready meals, using the finest produce from farmers and growers based within our local area. We are  fully committed  to only ever sourcing meat from local farms who supply us with Cotswold Lamb, Herefordshire Beef and Gloucester Old Spot Pork. Apart from the  Duck Cassoulet all dishes are gluten free. The dishes are freshly made and chilled and frozen ready to prepare straight  from the freezer in  single portion, 2 portion and  a 4 serving pack size.
