Harvested in a traditional manual method, this salt is known for its culinary virtues. It is naturally grey because it crystallizes in contact with the clay, from which it derives its richness in magnesium and trace elements. Less salty than the Mediterranean salt, guerande salt is richer in flavour making it the preferred salt for many cooks to flavour broths and cooking water for vegetables, but also for grilling and cooking in a salt crust.
